Right now…

I’m bang in the middle of a Kickstarter project for my Titanium Mechanical Pencil. I’ve also been involved in this Titanium Cheese Slicer project.

Some of the Backers of my previous project on Kickstarter (Titanium Pen) have had issues with their pens and so I’ve been re-designing and re-making some of them – shipping replacements will start in the next couple of weeks.

Right now I’m going through a phase of re-assessing my business model – or, in other words, I don’t seem to be making much progress in terms of profit. Yes, the products I sell are probably the highest priced in their category …but the production costs are high because they are done in small runs and all in-house here in New Zealand (no outsourcing to other countries). Basically: I’m new to this a still figuring it out.

The above is all “operational shenanigans” – but here’s the naked truth

I’ve been reading and learning how to deal with stress. I have big goals and am relentlessly moving towards them… and, with that, comes inevitable stress. Right now most of it comes from constant cashflow issues …balancing the production and shipping of current projects while investing in future projects.

I still, every so often, get thoughts of, “What am I doing? How did I end up making high-end titanium stuff?” …and then, shortly after I’ll be super-motivated, back-on-track again and blasting forward again like a bull on a cocktail of Red Bull and Speed. I may come across as “cool as a cucumber” (well, maybe) …but I’m a fairly flawed individually. A fair assessment I reckon. 🙂

To impossibly high standards,

Magnus
